Adopting a Rescue Dog Front Cover  Adopting a Rescue Dog is a guide to the first week of bringing a rescue dog into your home and helping him become a part of your family. Filled with useful tips, we think it can help both get off to a great start. Download your free copy here.

This book is specifically written for those who are adopting a dog for the first time. Many people who inquire about adopting a dog just aren't ready to do so. By no fault of their own, they get into a situation where they adopt a dog they can't handle and end up returning the dog later on. This book is being offered as a tool to make your adoption experience a successful one. Download your free copy here.

If you are considering surrendering your dog, please verify if the shelter you are considering is a kill shelter.
I have only indicated (No Kill Shelter) if I know.  That does not mean they are the only ones.

I have recently heard people sighting Oregon as a no-kill state.  This is completely UNTRUE.  Where Oregon has one of the lowest kill rates in the nation, most of our shelters are still Kill Shelters and will put an animal down when their time runs out.  Make sure you are surrendering to a NO-Kill agency.

Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.
